How much RAM should I choose for a Minecraft server?
Start with your server software and workload, not a promised player count. punshik's proposed Minecraft plans begin at 4 GB RAM.
Start with the type of server
A small vanilla world, a plugin-based community and a modpack have different requirements. Check the documentation for your exact Minecraft version, server software and modpack. The published plans are starting points, not guarantees of a fixed number of players.
Look beyond RAM
CPU time, world generation, view distance, plugins and storage activity can all affect performance. More memory does not fix every slow tick. Use the game panel's resource history and console to understand the workload before changing the plan.
Leave room for your actual workload
Test the world and required plugins or mods together. Watch usage while players explore and generate chunks. Keep a backup before changing server software or versions. Unlimited slots means there is no fixed slot cap; resource limits still apply.
Compare the whole plan
Compare CPU allocation, memory, disk, ports and backup limits together. Higher-memory Minecraft packages may allow up to three servers sharing the package resources; that does not multiply the resources. Confirm final limits and node availability before ordering.
